Dress rehearsal for our concert at Farleigh school started on Tuesday evening with a dress rehearsal. Jojo came with me (hurray!) we almost didn't find the darn place (thank you signs) but eventually made it. I made lots of introductions between JJ and my friends. We rehearsed several numbers with the other choirs involved Tidworth MWC, Salisbury Plain MWC, and Farleigh's Alumni Choir. There was lots of different tunes happening honestly. More than once I thought I must be singing it wrong but then another girl from my choir sang the same as me so at least I was wrong with somebody else. Ah well. We rehearsed our version of "Danny Boy" which wow! We were awesome! The other choirs listened and cheered for us which felt really good. We spent so much time working on that song, it's so good that it all came together.
After rehearsal the girls and JJ and I went to the Poplar Farm Inn for some drinks. Hurray for Diet Pepsi on tap! They make me laugh soon hard.
The actual concert was on Thursday. Tom, Emma, and JJ came to watch which was really nice. I was one of the few who actually had family members there I think. Tom recorded several of the numbers which I really appreciated. I stood at the very top of the back row smack in the middle. Wow am I tall up there. Also mostly people don't have hair as dark as I do. I kind of stood out.
Our first song was "Sing" followed by a version of "Stronger Together" which ended up being so fast because of our accompanist that I was like out of breath when we were done. Our Danny Boy ended up being a little rushed because of it but it still sounded good. After the other choir's numbers we did "Songs that Won the War" and "Wherever you are." I love Songs but don't really like Wherever so much. But I do love singing. I love it.
