It's lovely to be able to take your kids to a waterpark when its absolutely freezing outside. A few days ago Tom and I decided we wanted to have one last hurrah with our kids before he started school and I start
ed my internship. The girls LOVED Great Wolf Lodge when we took them to the one in Ohio last spring so we were lucky enough to get a good deal and jumped at it. We didn't tell Emma we were going, just that we were going on a fun little trip. She kept saying, "I wish I knew where the surprise was mom, can I guess?" Watching Wall-E helped pass the time. One of the most fun parts of this trip is that my mom came! Bum leg and all. I managed to squish between the car seats in the back which actually was quite fun. I was able to help the girls without turning around and making myself sick. When we pulled up and Emma saw the sign she was beside herself with joy. She said, "This is the best surprise ever!" and Mary said, "I wanna thwim!" So we unloaded into our room, changed clothes and hit the water park. It was a bit confusing for Emma that her friend Ellie was not going to be there...they were such little buddies last time.
It is so fun to see my kids having a good time. Tom and Emma were all over the water slides. She is a brave little cookie. Mary and I hung around the baby pool and the wave pool and my favorite, the family hot tub. Mom sat at a table and chatted with us. I
t was so fun to have her there. One of the superfun parts of this trip for the girls was staying in their "Wolf Den." They had bunk beds and renamed it their "castle." We might not have even had to go to the water park they had so much fun playing my little ponies in the Wolf Den. Of course we couldn't make them go to sleep but oh well. Tuesday we did the water park first thing in the morning and then Tom took Emma back after lunch but Mary was much more interested in watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on Itunes (she practically fell asleep at the resteraunt at lunch but had a flaming fit when I tried to make her go to bed)
so my mom and I hung out and I read some while we entertained Mary. I finally
had to fetch Tom and Emma from the water park at 6:30 so we could eat. The girls passed out that night. This morning it was more water park fun until both of the girls had meltdowns and it was time to head home. This next few months is going to be so crazy, it was nice to just do something together away from home.
